ACT - Murgwanza Hospital

ACT-Murgwanza Hospital is located in Ngara District in Kagera Region. It started as a small dispensary in the 1930s under the Church Missionary Society in the UK and later grew and expanded over time.

The hospital started with a vision of becoming a centre for holistic health services portraying Jesus Christ's health ministry. It later grew into a hospital in 1954.

By the year 1965, the Hospital was appointed by the Tanzania Government to operate as the Designated District Hospital (DDH) and is now operating as a Council Designated Hospital (CDH).

The main purpose of introducing the Hospital was to provide medical services to the community, mainly preventive, curative care, palliative care, rehabilitation and health promotion services.
