Description

KCTC was established in 1995 as Kagera Technical and Christian Training Center at the Diocesan headquarters in Murgwanza to provide training for evangelists who served at a local Church level. In 2011, it developed to be the theological college as a means of decentralizing theological education to the people of Kagera diocese and beyond who can’t access other Anglican Church colleges. This was due to the long distance involved from Kagera, thus making theological education unaffordable and inaccessible to many.

KCTC offers theological courses for Priests and Evangelists as well as practical skills including leadership and Church management. A certificate course taught in Kiswahili and a Diploma course taught in English both for three years provide a firm foundation for those to be ordained as Priests. Also the college offers Evangelistic course for one year. The training programs at KCTC target young Christians who wish to serve God in the Church as well as adult people who come for theological refreshment. This college also offers workshops and seminars in churches on theological issues. The unit seeks to provide effective evangelism and fruitful discipleship in response to Romans 10:11-15, Matthew 9:37.
